Did you know that 88 million American adults have pre-diabetes? A pre-diabetes diagnosis can set off alarm bells, but it doesn’t have to lead to Type 2 diabetes.
You can make diet changes to prevent or delay Type 2 diabetes. Here are 4 tips to drive healthy eating:
- Steer away from sweetened beverages like soda, alcohol, lemonade, and punch.
- Put on the brakes with foods with added sugar like jams, candy and other sweets.
- Fill your tank with healthy protein like eggs, nuts or chicken. It can help you feel full and reduce your need to snack.
- Don’t take a detour and bypass your meals. You may get hungry later and overeat.
