Care tips for aging skin

Did you know? Scratches, cuts or bumps can take longer to heal as we age.

Here are some tips to keep your skin healthy at any age.

1. Moisturize Regularly
Aging skin tends to become drier as it loses the ability to retain moisture. Use a rich, hydrating moisturizer daily to keep your skin supple and smooth. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and ceramides, which help lock in moisture.

2. Protect Your Skin from the Sun
Sun exposure is one of the leading causes of premature aging. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher every day, even on cloudy days. Wearing protective clothing, hats, and sunglasses can also help shield your skin from UV damage.

3. Stay Hydrated
Drinking plenty of water helps keep your skin hydrated from the inside out. Adequate hydration supports skin elasticity and can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

4. Eat a Skin-Healthy Diet
Nutrition plays a key role in skin health. Eat a diet rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and healthy fats. Foods like berries, leafy greens, nuts and fish provide nutrients that help protect and nourish the skin.

5. Exfoliate Gently
Regular exfoliation removes dead skin cells and promotes cell turnover. Use gentle exfoliants, like enzyme-based or mild chemical exfoliators (such as glycolic or lactic acid), to avoid damaging delicate aging skin.
