Why embrace creativity now?

As we age, embracing creativity offers numerous benefits:

5 tips to get started

  • Explore Different Mediums: Whether it's painting, writing, knitting, or music, try out various creative outlets to find what resonates with you.
  • Take a Class: Many community centers and online platforms offer classes tailored for older adults. It's a great way to learn new skills and meet like-minded individuals.
  • Set Realistic Goals: Start with small, manageable projects. As you gain confidence, you can tackle more ambitious endeavors.
  • Create a Dedicated Space: Set up a comfortable area in your home where you can focus on your creative activities without interruptions.
  • Stay Open-Minded: Creativity knows no bounds. Be open to experimenting and making mistakes—it's all part of the process!

Living Well With Chronic Conditions (LWWCC)

If you have a chronic condition such as hypertension, arthritis, lung disease, diabetes, depression or anxiety, you’re not alone. Eight out of ten older adults have one or more of these chronic conditions. Managing your chronic condition can improve your health and quality of life.

Participants in this six-week class make weekly action plans, share experiences and help each other solve problems as they carry out their plans. Topics include nutrition, exercise, medication use, pain management, emotions and communicating with medical providers.
